“Blossom” is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, starring Meng Ziyi ("The Untamed"), Li Yunrui ("Love Like the Galaxy,” "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms"), Kong Xue’er (" Youth With You: Season 2"), and Xia Zhiguang ("Monster Hunt 2") in a table-turning feel-good drama revolving around fate and battle of wits.
After losing her mother at a young age and facing many upheavals and hardships, Dou Zhao (played by Meng Ziyi) becomes deeply disillusioned with love and family. To protect herself and her family estate, she contends with her stepmother and chooses to live in a remote village, focusing on her studies to become self-reliant. One stormy night, Dou Zhao encounters Song Mo (played by Li Yunrui)—disguised as a merchant—at the village. Using her wit, she helps him protect the orphaned descendant of the meritorious Duke of Dingguo, and this incident intertwines their fates. Song Mo, born into an official's family, is entangled in the mysteries of his family's downfall. Meanwhile, Dou Zhao faces malicious rumors about an arranged marriage orchestrated by her stepmother. To form an alliance and navigate their difficulties, the two decide to get married. Initially suspicious of each other, they gradually become confidants as they support each other through numerous challenges. But a sudden whirlwind strikes, causing shifts in court politics, and Dou Zhao and Song Mo band together to face the crisis. They jointly salvage the fates of their families, unravel the mystery of Duke of Yingguo’s son switch-up, prevent Prince Qing’s rebellion, and rectify the wrongful vindication of loyal ministers. Safeguarding the peace of their families and the nation, they truly find their own bliss.
This drama will begin streaming on iQIYI International (iQ.com) on December 6.
